Understand invoice statuses, record payments, and monitor overdue invoices from the dashboard.
Every invoice has a status that tells you exactly where it stands in the billing lifecycle.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| DRAFT | Being edited; not yet issued |
| FINALIZED | Locked; invoice number assigned; ready to send |
| SENT | The client has been given or sent the invoice |
| PAID | Paid in full |
| PARTIAL | Part-payment received; outstanding balance is tracked |
| OVERDUE | Past the due date with an outstanding balance |
| CANCELLED | Voided; kept for audit purposes |
From the invoice detail page:
From the invoice list: Use the three-dot (⋮) menu on any row to quickly update the status without opening the detail page.
When an invoice passes its due date with an outstanding balance, InvoiceBoard automatically sends a reminder email to the client. The reminder is sent once per invoice. You can see whether a reminder has been dispatched in the invoice detail panel.
The Dashboard page gives you a financial snapshot at a glance:
| Metric | What it includes |
|---|---|
| Total Revenue | All invoices marked as fully Paid |
| Outstanding | Finalized or Sent invoices not yet past due |
| Overdue | Invoices past due date with unpaid balances |
| Revenue chart | Paid invoice totals over time |
All figures are displayed in your team's base currency. Multi-currency invoices are converted using the exchange rate captured when the draft was created.
Each invoice carries its own currency (e.g. EUR, GBP, JPY). Set the currency per invoice in the Additional Info card of the editor. Dashboard totals always aggregate into your team's base currency for a consistent overview.
To change your team's base currency, go to Organization Settings → General.
